I can't find now the quote she gave in answer one time (when she was actually still playing, at a restaurant in Queens) but it was something along the lines of "there are so many talented piano players." She was absolutely one of those -- the more I listen the more impressed I am with her voicings, the way she comps behind soloists, etc. That aspect of her work shines on the record with Zoot Sims....
